Classified AOP since 2 May 2007, the Malepère is a wine terroir as confidential as deemed Languedoc Roussillon, both for the quality of its wines by their originality.
Indeed, a few miles from Naurouze (watershed), the transitional climate of Malepère combines Mediterranean sunshine to rain in Bordeaux. Therefore, the Malepère is AOC claiming culture of vines “Bordeaux” (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc …) with the “Mediterranean” grape varieties (Syrah, Grenache …).
