The main characteristics of our region are:
- Soil: ground of grave , polished, with bright colors, is precisely what is needed to reflect solar rays, to lead on the bunch of grapes and determine maturity. Then the rollers provide an intense ruby red wines appearance that grow there. The heat they are capable of storing dates in the vines, once night falls, and thus allows the grapes to release its tannins. The wines grown on this soil have character and a certain maturity at a young age.
- The basement: the white ground of the plateau consists of limestone and clayey sands ; the darkest earth round consists of calcareous sandy clay loam. On plots these soils from 30 to 40 cm are crumbly to the tool, allowing the roots to exploit the Mg beds underlying. The roots of more than three meters. The whole gives a substrate having a good permeability of rainwater for a good supply of water and a balanced fertility; it offers an environment that can happily wear the most demanding water varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay.
- The relief: The gentle undulations of the landscape, the rounded peaks surrounding the area, this is what allows the sun to kiss, to heat the entire surface; the winds of travel in all directions to expel moisture so fatal.
- Climate: The property is located in the groove Lauraguais and more specifically in the wine region of the terroir of the Dominicans. It combines the Mediterranean sunshine and precipitation from the Atlantic. This is a transitional climate, which allows to combine and present the optimal conditions for growing grapes, including adapted varieties that are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Grenache. This transition zone between two climatic influences and presence in the center of the corridor formed by the Pyrenees and the Black Mountain generate powerful winds from the East or West, browsing through our vineyard and for optimal health status .
